According to Chris Martin, “Yellow” is about being devoted to someone, wanting to do anything for them – writing a song for them, swimming across the sea for them and so on…. (all together now….awwwwww)
“Endless Love”, that schmaltzy duet by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross was from the 1981 film of the same name. The film, which was based on a best-selling novel of the same name, was not very successful, but the song received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations and won a Marquee Award in 1982 for Best Original Song. It still brings a lump to my throat… (but that’s a whole other story…
