This track sort of happened after I heard an audio interview with a hundred year old woman called Rosina Florever talking about her life on WFMU. Inspired by her story
I went in search of as soundtrack for her life…
It features “Svefn-g-englar” (Sleepwalkers) by Sigur Ros, as featured on the soundtrack of Vanilla Sky. It also features the ethereal warbling of Liz Frazer’s from Cocteau Twins covering Tim Buckley’s “Song to the Siren” from It’ll End In Tears, by This Mortal Coil. This Mortal Coil was a musical project of Ivo Watts-Russell, founder of 4AD.
Note: This version of “Song to the Siren” inspired David Lynch to first work with Angelo Badalamenti & write “Mysteries of Love” together.
File under: It all started with an ear…
